Mary Cole Owen and Freeman Owen purchase the house from John West, Jr.,
Phoebe Godfrey, Abigail Smith, Betsy Harrington and Mary Foster (children
of John and Phoebe West) (deed book #13, Pages 423-424. October 20, 1842).
[Note: Mary Cole Owen’s mother was Elizabeth Cole. Elizabeth’s
sister, Lydia Cole, married James West, a grandson of John and Phebe West,
therefore there is a peripheral connection between the Owen family and the
West Family.] |
